Bordered "Clips" Backgrounds

So, you want to start using bordered backgrounds on your pages, huh? Well, it's not that difficult to do and certainly adds a bit of pizzazz to your pages for very little effort!

For a border such as the one I'm using on this page (Trellis Rose - Dark), check out the document source code. I've outlined within the source exactly how easy it is to set up a tabled template.

The trellis and rose are approximately 150 pixels wide and the body takes up the balance of the screen. All of my backgrounds are designed to a width of 800 pixels. The logic behind this was that the majority of screen resolutions are set either at 640x480 or 800x600. Using a width of 800 pixels ensures that it won't start tiling again on the right for the majority of the monitors viewing your pages. If you know that there will be a substantial amount of surfers coming to your site that use a resolution greater than 800 pixels, you may want to "copy & paste" additional width so their view won't be obscured by yet another tiled design.

So, there you have it. If you have any questions as to how to set up your pages using bordered backgrounds, please email me and I'll be happy to assist you!
